Born in Matsuyama Japan, RITZCO has been drawing and designing characters for as long as she can remember. A deep passion for design coupled with undeniable skill lead her to the well known Matsuyama Design School where she trained under the revered Japanese animator Yusaku Sakamoto.
Right out of college, RITZCO landed her first job in animation at San Rio Studios where she worked up to lead animator on such theatrical films as LEGEND OF SIRIUS. Her work at San Rio caught the eye of the leadership at Tokyo Movie Studios where she became lead animator on major Disney television series and specials where she worked on such characters as WINNIE THE POOH.

RITZCO’s careful attention to detail with classic characters landed her a full time position with Walt Disney Animation Japan where she was in charge of directing animation for such series as The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.

In a major turning point for her career, RITZCO was offered the opportunity to train at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank; what started as a visit to the states, became a full time opportunity at the studio. Since the early 1990s, she has been a key character designer charged with conceptualizing, designing and executing primary and secondary characters for many of Disney’s most famous direct to video classics such as LION KING 1½ and MICKEY’S ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS.

Most recently, RITZCO has been the principal designer of all the major and supporting Disney fairies including Tinker Bell. RITZCO’s work on the first three Tinker Bell films have given way to countless fairies, animals and creatures of all kinds that populate Pixie Hollow. She also designed Lizzy, the nine-year old girl that Tink befriends in TINKER BELL AND THE GREAT FAIRY RESCUE.
